Welcome to
Portlethen is a coastal town in the North East of Scotland, lying alongside the North Sea. It is in the historic county of Kincardineshire, which was absorbed into the modern county of Aberdeenshire.
Portlethen is in the area that is now called Kincardine and Mearns, one of six administrative areas in Aberdeenshire.
Every three months, in March, June, September and December, the free local magazine, the Clochandighter, is delivered to each house in Portlethen and District. This magazine is created by the community and is for the community, containing many updates from local groups and adverts for local businesses (and much more).
The latest edition can be downloaded here: Autumn 2024
Previous versions can be downloaded from the “Clochandighter” menu (at the top of the page).
Just for interest, here are another couple of local magazines from neighbouring communities:
- The Newtonhill “Newsey”, September 2024 (61MB PDF)
- South Deeside View, Autumn 2024 (3 MB PDF)
