The beautiful landscape surrounding Portlethen contains stunning views of the countryside and coastline, alongside footpaths that will guide you through the town’s rich cultural history. Many different walking routes can take you to various areas around town. The stunning scenery is accompanied by a great variety of wildlife, including seals, dolphins, and if you’re lucky enough, you may even see a whale!
You don’t have to walk alone either. If you would prefer some company, you have the choice of multiple walking clubs that can be found online or on Facebook.
No matter what you’re looking for, whether easy or challenging, there is an enormous number of routes available. From paths surrounding Portlethen Church that provide views of the Harbour and opportunities to join the coastal path where you may catch a glimpse of Dunnottar Castle, to various tracks with sights of Boswell’s Monument, Lochnagar, Bennachie and Brimmond Hill – all you have to do is explore and you will soon see what is on offer.
