Portlethen Community Ambulance

The primary use of the Ambulance is transporting patients to and from Portlethen Medical Centre

The Community Ambulance has been operating in Portlethen, Newtonhill and surrounding area since 1982, with the primary function of transport elderly and disabled people to and from their appointments at Portlethen Medical Centre and Portlethen Dental Practice. This service is provided 5 days per week.

In June 2001, the Community Ambulance obtained charitable status and in 2002 were proud to receive the Queens Golden Jubilee Award for Voluntary Service in the Community.

Everyone involved in the charity is a volunteer. The committee, who are also Trustees of the charity, consists of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Rota Co-ordinator and Maintenance Co-ordinator and most importantly the volunteer drivers.

The charity is mainly supported by contributions from individuals, Community Councils and businesses in the area.
